The convoy is carrying more than 122,000 food parcels, medical supplies, and fuel.
The Egyptian Red Crescent (ERC) said the convoy includes flour, rice, pasta, legumes, canned food, medicines, medical equipment, blankets, shelter materials, and hygiene kits. Several trucks carried fuel needed to keep hospitals, bakeries, and water facilities running.
At the same time, Israel expanded its ground offensive into Gaza City. Defence Minister Israel Katz stated that “Gaza is burning” as tanks, artillery, and airstrikes struck the city.
Overnight bombardments destroyed homes and damaged infrastructure in western Gaza City, killing at least 20 people and injuring dozens, according to local health officials.
Hospitals, already running out of medicine and fuel, are struggling to cope.
The Israeli army ordered civilians to evacuate south toward Al-Mawasi, but aid groups say there are no safe routes. More than 200,000 people have fled northern Gaza in recent weeks, many crowding into shelters or makeshift camps in the south.
On Monday, at the Emergency Arab-Islamic Summit in Doha, leaders condemned Israel’s widening assault on Gaza and demanded unrestricted humanitarian access.
President Abdel-Fattah El-Sisi called Israel an “enemy” — the first time an Egyptian president has used the term since before the 1977 peace treaty. Gulf states also warned that the ongoing assault and aid blockages threaten regional security.
The summit’s final statement called for an immediate end to the siege and affirmed that any forced displacement of Palestinians would be unacceptable.
Meanwhile, US Secretary of State Marco Rubio visited Israel on Sunday, voicing support for its military campaign but urging restraint as civilian casualties grow.
During the visit, Rubio reaffirmed US backing for Israel’s security and called for a negotiated solution to prevent wider regional escalation.
His visit highlighted the contrast between US support for Israel and Arab leaders’ calls for an immediate ceasefire and unhindered flow of aid.
