PM Madbouly is scheduled to address the high-level segment of the UNGA and the high-level meeting marking the 30th anniversary of the World Conference on Women.
He will also speak at the High-Level International Conference on the Peaceful Settlement of the Palestinian Issue and the Implementation of the Two-State Solution, according to a statement from the cabinet.
On the sidelines of the UNGA meetings, Madbouly will hold bilateral talks with the leaders of several countries and representatives of international organizations.
Foreign Minister Badr Abdelatty is accompanying the delegation and will hold bilateral meetings with his counterparts. He will also deliver Egypt’s speech to the UNGA, a statement by the Foreign Ministry said.
The high-level segment, known as UNGA week, begins Tuesday under the theme: “Better Together: 80 Years and Beyond for Peace, Development, and Human Rights.”
The UNGA session, which will be attended by representatives from 193 nations, comes as the war in Gaza enters its second year. The War has killed and injured more than 230,000 Palestinians and caused famine across the strip.
On 12 September, the UNGA voted overwhelmingly to back a declaration outlining "tangible, time-bound, and irreversible steps" toward a two-state solution between Israel and Palestine.
The text was adopted by 142 votes in favour, 10 against — including Israel and the United States, and 12 abstentions.
Several nations are expected to recognize a Palestinian state during the UNGA, including France, Australia, Canada, Luxembourg, Malta, and Portugal.
The UK and Belgium said they would also recognize Palestinian statehood, but with conditions.
