During their meeting, which came ahead of the United Nations General Assembly session, Abdelatty reiterated Egypt’s firm commitment to Gulf security, describing it as an integral part of Egypt’s national security.

According to a Foreign Ministry statement, he called for closer Egyptian-Gulf coordination to confront external interventions that threaten Arab security.

Abdelatty strongly condemned Israel’s attack on Qatar, reiterating Egypt’s rejection of any attempt to undermine the security or stability of Gulf states.

He also renewed Egypt’s condemnation of Israel’s ongoing military operations in Gaza and violations in the West Bank, warning of the catastrophic humanitarian consequences of targeting civilians, the starvation policy, and forced displacement.

Abdelatty stressed the urgent need for an immediate and complete halt to Israeli military operations and for unhindered humanitarian access to Gaza.

He emphasized the importance of continuing efforts to secure broader international recognition of the State of Palestine and to end the occupation.

Furthermore, Abdelatty praised the strength of Egypt-Kuwait relations, noting the significant growth in ties over the past two years through high-level visits.

He reaffirmed Egypt’s readiness to convene the 14th session of the Egyptian-Kuwaiti Joint Committee, aimed at advancing joint investments and projects.

He also expressed interest in expanding trilateral cooperation with Kuwait in Africa to promote development and stability across the continent.

Kuwait is one of the largest Arab investors in Egypt, with cumulative investments exceeding $15 billion as of April 2024 across sectors including real estate, energy, banking, tourism, and telecommunications, according to official reports.

The Egypt-Kuwait Joint Committee serves as the main framework for cooperation, with its 14th session expected to pave the way for new projects in infrastructure, agriculture, and renewable energy.

Bilateral trade has also grown steadily, with Egypt exporting agricultural products, foodstuffs, and construction materials, while importing petroleum and petrochemicals from Kuwait.
