The establishment of an independent Palestinian state is not merely a dream but a "steadfast determination" to uphold the rights of the Palestinian people, El-Sisi posted on his social media accounts.

He asserted that this goal “is supported by all those worldwide who desire peace.”

The Egyptian president stressed that achieving a two-state solution on the ground is "the only path to achieving lasting peace, security, and enduring cooperation among all the peoples of the region."

El-Sisi’s remarks come as world leaders gathered at the United Nations Headquarters in New York for the summit, co-chaired by France and Saudi Arabia. The event precedes the opening of the 80th United Nations General Assembly in New York on Tuesday.

The UN conference also follows growing global outrage and condemnation of Israel's military campaign in the Gaza Strip and increasing steps by Tel Aviv to annex the West Bank and East Jerusalem.

The event comes amid a period of growing regional and international recognition of the Palestinian people's right to an independent state along the June 1967 borders.

Ahead of the conference, 151 of 193 UN member states have recognized the right of the Palestinian people to establish their independent state.

During the summit, France, Portugal, and Monaco formally recognized a Palestinian state.

Other nations are expected to follow suit, including Luxembourg, Malta, Canada, Australia, New Zealand and Liechtenstein.

Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouly is leading Egypt's delegation at the 80th session of the UN General Assembly (UNGA) on behalf of President El-Sisi.
