The Egyptian and Emirati leaders agreed on the need to back Trump’s peace plan as a step toward “permanent and comprehensive peace” in the region, according to the Egyptian presidency.
On Sunday, the Washington Post reported details of US President Donald Trump’s plan to end the Israeli war on Gaza, which includes a possible path toward Palestinian statehood and rules out forced displacement.
The reports followed a summit between President Trump and Arab and Muslim leaders in New York on Tuesday, on the sidelines of the 80th United Nations General Assembly (UNGA).
In an interview with Axios on Sunday, Trump stated that negotiations to end the Gaza war were in their “final stages” and suggested the deal could pave the way for broader regional peace.
Earlier in the day, El-Sisi personally welcomed bin Zayed at Cairo International Airport, marking the start of what the presidency described as a “fraternal visit", as part of their regular consultations.

The Cairo talks also highlighted the depth of Egypt-UAE relations, particularly in trade and investment.
El-Sisi said Egypt was committed to removing obstacles facing Emirati investors, while bin Zayed praised improvements in Egypt’s investment climate.
Both leaders emphasised their goal of expanding cooperation between the two nations across various sectors.
The meeting included extended discussions with senior officials from both sides, followed by a closed session between the two presidents and a working luncheon.
