In a statement, Egypt’s Foreign Ministry said Abdelatty will also hold bilateral talks on the sidelines with senior officials to strengthen relations and exchange views on regional and international developments.
The Munich Leaders Meeting, organized by the Munich Security Conference (MSC), is an invitation-only forum that brings together global decision-makers to discuss pressing international and regional challenges.
Unlike the main MSC held each February in Germany, the Al-Ula meeting is smaller in scale and designed to foster candid exchanges under the Chatham House Rule, established in London in 1927, which allows participants to use information from the discussions without revealing the identity of the speakers.
The gathering, formerly known as the Core Group Meeting, is convened once or twice a year in different capitals and typically draws between 50 and 70 senior figures, including foreign ministers, security chiefs, and heads of international organizations.
Discussions span a wide range of issues, from global trade and energy security to regional conflicts and maritime stability.
This year’s session, hosted in Al-Ula from 30 September to 2 October at Maraya Hall, underscores the growing importance of the Middle East in global security dialogues.
The agenda focuses on energy transition, economic cooperation, and crisis management amid deepening geopolitical uncertainty.
