According to the Presidency, both leaders praised the US peace plan announced by President Donald Trump and underscored the urgent need for an immediate ceasefire, the unimpeded entry of humanitarian and relief aid into Gaza, the exchange of captives and prisoners, and the prompt launch of Gaza’s reconstruction without displacing the Palestinian people from their land.
El-Sisi, for his part, commended France’s recognition of the State of Palestine on 22 September 2025, during the Two-State Solution Conference in New York, co-chaired by France and Saudi Arabia, describing it as a significant step encouraging other nations to follow suit and uphold international resolutions establishing an independent Palestinian state along the 4 June 1967 borders with East Jerusalem as its capital.
El-Sisi and Macron agreed to continue close consultations between Cairo and Paris as part of ongoing efforts to end the war and halt the worsening humanitarian crisis in the strip.
The two presidents also reviewed developments in the Egypt-France strategic partnership and ways to advance the agreements reached during Macron’s visit to Egypt in April 2025.
Macron also congratulated El-Sisi on Khaled El-Enany’s election as Director-General of UNESCO.
