El-Sisi highlighted Egypt’s efforts to end the war in Gaza, including, most recently, hosting the current negotiations between Hamas and Israel in Sharm El-Sheikh.
He stressed exploiting the momentum that US President Donald Trump’s plan to end the war on Gaza created and international recognition of the Palestinian state.
Furthermore, the Egyptian president emphasised the importance of launching a peaceful political process that leads to the implementation of the two-state solution in accordance with international resolutions.
For his part, Tebboune praised Egypt and President El-Sisi’s efforts to halt the war, facilitate the delivery of aid, and reject the displacement of Gaza’s residents. He also affirmed Algiers’ full support for these efforts to end the suffering of the Palestinian people.
Moreover, the two leaders discussed strengthening relations between Egypt and Algeria, as well as preparations for the upcoming meeting of the Joint Higher Committee between the two countries in Cairo in November.
El-Sisi and Tebboune affirmed that the committee, co-chaired by the prime ministers of Egypt and Algeria, constitutes an excellent opportunity to advance cooperation between the two nations in various areas.
Tebboune also extended congratulations to El-Sisi, the Egyptian people, and the Egyptian Armed Forces on the occasion of the 52nd anniversary of the 6 October victory.
In return, the Egyptian president affirmed that Egypt’s leadership and people will never forget the significant role the Algerian forces played in the October 1973 war. This role, El-Sisi added, testifies to Algeria’s Arab identity and its sincere and steadfast support for Arab causes.
