Rashad held talks with Talal Naji, Secretary-General of the Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine – General Command, to discuss unified Palestinian support for the Trump plan.
He also met with Ziyad al-Nakhalah, Secretary-General of the Islamic Jihad Movement, who affirmed the movement’s commitment to the ceasefire and readiness to implement all phases and mechanisms of the agreement outlined in Trump’s plan.
The Egyptian intelligence chief further met with Mustafa Barghouti, Secretary-General of the Palestinian National Initiative, and Fahd Suleiman, Secretary-General of the Democratic Front for the Liberation of Palestine, to coordinate Egyptian efforts toward achieving Palestinian consensus and implementing the ceasefire.
Earlier in the day, Rashad also met with Palestinian Vice President Hussein al-Sheikh and Palestinian Intelligence Chief Majed Faraj to bolster joint coordination in support of the truce.
According to the Egyptian news websites, a Hamas high-level delegation led by Khalil El-Hayya met with Palestinian Vice President Hussein al-Sheikh in Cairo.
The meetings come as part of Cairo’s sustained push to end the ongoing crisis in Gaza and support the implementation of the ceasefire agreement, while reiterating its rejection of any unilateral Israeli measures, particularly the Israeli Knesset’s recent decision to annex occupied Palestinian lands.
Egypt is preparing to host an international conference on Gaza reconstruction in the second half of November, aimed at supporting stability in the strip and advancing the peace process.
