During the call, both sides discussed efforts to achieve reconciliation among Palestinian factions and unify Palestinian ranks during this critical phase, to strengthen the Palestinian position and uphold the supreme national interest.

They addressed the reforms being undertaken by the PA, as well as the constitutional declaration issued by Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas, which is viewed as a step toward organising the coming phase and activating the institutions of the Palestinian state.

Abdelatty affirmed Egypt’s support for the PA’s efforts that contribute to strengthening security and stability and fulfilling the aspirations of the Palestinian people to establish their independent state along the 4 June 1967 borders, with East Jerusalem as its capital.

Abdelatty and Al-Sheikh also reviewed the ongoing preparations for the upcoming Conference on Early Recovery, Reconstruction, and Development in Gaza, scheduled for November.

They emphasised the importance of ensuring the necessary international support for recovery and reconstruction efforts to meet the needs of the Palestinian people.
