The convoy, coordinated by the Egyptian Red Crescent (ERC), is part of the Zad Al-Ezza: From Egypt to Gaza initiative, launched on 27 July to alleviate the suffering of the Palestinian people.

It includes more than 300,000 tons of food baskets, around 1,300 tons of flour, 2,900 tons of medical and relief supplies, and 1,000 tons of fuel, according to an ERC statement.

The dispatch comes amid renewed Israeli attacks on Gaza, which blatantly violate the ceasefire reached on 9 October.

On Tuesday, Israeli airstrikes killed more than 100 Palestinians in several areas across the Gaza Strip.

Although the ceasefire agreement, brokered by Egypt, the United States, Qatar, and Turkey, allows up to 600 aid trucks per day to enter Gaza, the actual number reaching the strip daily ranges between 350 and 450.

This comes as Israel continues to restrict aid entry through prolonged inspection procedures.

The UN estimates that at least 800 trucks are needed daily to ease the severe humanitarian crisis in Gaza, which it declared a famine area in August.

Over two years of Israeli genocidal war on Gaza, Egypt has served as the territory’s main lifeline, sending more than 45,000 trucks with over 600,000 tons of humanitarian supplies, about 70 percent of all aid delivered to the strip.

Following the ceasefire announcement, Egypt also sent bulldozers and engineering equipment into Gaza to remove debris, clear damaged roads, and maintain the flow of aid.
