The new agreements span economic planning, transport, customs, education, and aviation, underscoring efforts to deepen bilateral cooperation.

A major MoU was signed to enhance the exchange of expertise in economic and development policymaking, aimed at strengthening the strategic planning capacities of both nations.

This was reinforced by a separate cooperation agreement with Egypt’s National Planning Institute for the 2025–2027 period, according to a statement by the Egyptian cabinet.

In the transport sector, the two sides signed an agreement on maritime transport to boost trade flows, alongside an MoU between the Egyptian and Lebanese Customs Administrations to facilitate mutual assistance and streamline cross-border commerce.

Education and technical training also featured prominently, with new agreements to expand cooperation in technical education and a protocol linking Egypt’s Academy of Aviation Sciences with Lebanon’s Civil Aviation Directorate.

Both countries also signed a draft MoU on mutual visa exemptions for holders of diplomatic passports, which will simplify travel for senior officials, the statement noted.

The Egyptian-Lebanese Joint Higher Committee, established in 1996, serves as the main framework for advancing bilateral cooperation.

The tenth session reviewed progress made since previous meetings and marked a renewed commitment to expanding the partnership between Cairo and Beirut.

Egypt has affirmed readiness to contribute to Lebanon’s reconstruction and infrastructure development in the aftermath of widespread destruction caused by the Israeli aggression on the country in 2024.
