Organized by Egypt’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs in coordination with the Egyptian Embassy in Washington, the visit took place from 28 to 30 October 2025.

The delegation, led by Nebraska Secretary of State Robert Evnen, included representatives from American companies specializing in irrigation systems, water conservation, and crop storage technologies, alongside experts from the University of Nebraska and the healthcare sector.

During the visit, the delegation met with senior Egyptian officials from various ministries and agencies, including Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Health and Population Khaled Abdel-Ghaffar, as well as officials from the Ministries of Agriculture, Water Resources, and Irrigation; Higher Education; and the General Authority for Investment and Free Zones (GAFI).

Talks also involved the National Service Projects Organization, the Future of Egypt for Sustainable Development Authority, and members of the American Chamber of Commerce in Cairo, particularly those active in agriculture, irrigation, and healthcare.

Discussions focused on enhancing trade, investment, and academic cooperation, with an emphasis on developing smart irrigation systems, optimizing water use, and strengthening food security. Both sides also explored expanding partnerships in healthcare and agricultural research.

Officials said the meetings reflected a shared commitment to advancing Egypt–US cooperation within their broader strategic partnership, with Nebraska positioned as a leading US state in agricultural innovation and sustainable water management.
