During the call, President El-Sisi underscored the importance of fully implementing the Gaza deal, maintaining the ceasefire, ensuring adequate humanitarian aid, and expediting reconstruction efforts.
El-Sisi noted to his South African counterpart that Egypt plans to host an international conference on early recovery and reconstruction in Gaza later this month.
From his side, Ramaphosa praised Egypt’s role and expressed South Africa’s intention to actively participate in the upcoming conference and contribute to rebuilding Gaza.
The two presidents also agreed on the importance of sustaining political momentum to advance a comprehensive peace process leading to the establishment of an independent Palestinian state along the 1967 borders, with East Jerusalem as its capital.
They further discussed ways to promote peace and stability across the African continent, reaffirming their shared commitment to resolving conflicts through peaceful and sustainable means that support development and prosperity for African nations.
