According to the Egyptian Foreign Ministry, the two ministers discussed ways to strengthen bilateral cooperation between Egypt and Ukraine and exchanged views on regional and international developments, including the latest in the Ukrainian crisis.
Abdelatty reaffirmed Egypt’s keenness to continue developing economic, trade, and investment ties, while Sybiha expressed appreciation for Egypt’s role in hosting the Sharm El-Sheikh Peace Summit and its efforts to end the war in Gaza, underscoring Cairo’s pivotal role in advancing peace and stability in the region.
On social media, Ukrainian Foreign Minister Andrii Sybiha also briefed Abdelatty on Russia’s illegal recruitment of citizens from African countries to fight in its war against Ukraine and underlined Ukraine’s readiness to contribute to Egypt’s food security despite the ongoing conflict.
Sybiha extended an invitation to Abdelatty to visit Ukraine, as he expressed his country’s appreciation for Egypt’s support for Ukrainian resolutions within international organizations.
