Emam’s remarks came during a meeting with UN Humanitarian Coordinator for Palestine and Deputy Special Coordinator for the Middle East Peace Process Ramiz Alakbarov and UN Resident Coordinator in Egypt Elena Panova.
According to an ERC statement, Emam highlighted Egypt’s extensive efforts to support the people of Gaza since the start of the war.
She said the aid included food, medicine, medical and relief supplies, and fuel delivered to Gaza through the Rafah and Karm Abu Salem crossings, stressing that the Rafah crossing has never been closed from the Egyptian side since the war began.
Emam explained that the ERC coordinates global aid to Gaza by air, sea, and land through an operations room in El-Arish linked to the central operations room in Cairo.

Aid is inspected and coded at logistics centres in El-Arish to ensure delivery in line with international standards via a land bridge connecting the centres to Gaza, she added.
Emam noted that the ERC has received 943 humanitarian relief flights and 617 maritime aid shipments, coordinating with 59 countries and all UN and international relief organizations to ensure a unified global response.
She added that 214 ambulances and about 91,000 tons of fuel were sent to support hospitals and vital facilities, along with the entry of four field hospitals into Gaza.

In cooperation with the Ministries of Health and Social Solidarity, the ERC assisted evacuees, the injured, and patients with their families.
These services included over 86,000 family reunification cases, cash support for 2,800 families, about 171,000 relief services, and 260,000 medical services.
Since 27 July, she said, the ERC has sent 72 convoys to Gaza under the Zad Al-Ezza: From Egypt to Gaza initiative, delivering more than 130,000 tons of aid, including food, flour, bread, baby formula, tents, medicines, relief materials, and fuel.

For his part, Alakbarov praised Egypt’s efforts and the ERC’s leading role in providing aid to Gaza, describing them as a model for international humanitarian coordination.
He also emphasized continued cooperation between the UN and the ERC to support Palestinians and improve crisis response.
Meanwhile, Panova reaffirmed the UN’s support for joint humanitarian efforts with the ERC, commending its vital role in coordinating aid and assisting the Gaza population.
During their visit, the UN delegation toured the ERC headquarters and its central operations room, which monitors local and international developments around the clock with the help of volunteers.
They also inspected the humanitarian aid packing centre, where food baskets are prepared, the statement added.

The visit aimed to enhance coordination and cooperation between the UN and the ERC to strengthen global humanitarian efforts for the Gaza population.
Last week, the UN Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO) warned of an unprecedented humanitarian catastrophe in Gaza amid the ongoing Israeli genocidal war.
In its annual report, the FAO said Gaza is now entirely dependent on humanitarian aid, with 90 percent of the population lacking sufficient food.
It classified Gaza among the world’s four worst food crises for 2024–2025, along with Sudan, Yemen, and Afghanistan.
On 22 August, the UN declared a famine in Gaza, the first in the Middle East.
