He also congratulating him on Lebanon’s 82nd Independence Day, according to a presidential statement.
During the call, President El-Sisi highlighted Egypt’s commitment to supporting the implementation of UN Security Council Resolution 1701.
He also reiterated Cairo’s support for the Lebanese government’s policy of ensuring that weapons remain under state authority.
President Aoun thanked El-Sisi for the congratulatory message and Egypt’s ongoing support. He also emphasized Lebanon’s dedication to consolidating state control over arms and its strong historical ties with Egypt.
Additionally, the two leaders also discussed the importance of international support for the Lebanese Armed Forces.
President Aoun praised Egypt’s assistance to Lebanon’s military and security institutions, noting the critical role they play in maintaining national stability.
Earlier today, Egyptian Foreign Minister Badr Abdelatty arrived in Beirut on Tuesday evening. He is expected to hold a series of meetings with Lebanese officials on Wednesday.
