In a statement, the foreign ministry noted that videos which may be offensive to authorities or public and private institutions in their host countries could expose the expat to legal consequences in many countries.

The ministry emphasized the importance of direct communication between expats and the Egyptian diplomatic mission in the country of residence when requesting any consular assistance.

Egyptian nationals may visit the mission in person, the ministry noted, or contact via the WhatsApp hotline announced by each diplomatic mission and shared on its social media platforms, as well as through the ministry’s central consular WhatsApp hotline (00201226858000).

The foreign ministry reaffirmed its primary role in safeguarding the interests of Egyptians abroad and providing all consular assistance as long as requests are submitted through the official available channels.
