The forum was held on the sidelines of the first session of the Joint Committee between the two countries.  Sherif El-Gabaly, head of the African Cooperation Committee at the Federation of Egyptian Industries, along with representatives of several Egyptian companies operating in energy, construction, and information technology, attended the session.

Abdelatty said the wide participation of private-sector representatives, investors, and business leaders reflects the strength of relations between Egypt and Angola.

He emphasized boosting trade volumes, expanding mutual investments, and capitalizing on available opportunities.

Moreover, the Egyptian foreign minister pointed out the forum’s role as a platform for fostering partnerships between public and private sector companies in both countries and its role in driving economic integration efforts and supporting joint ventures.

He underscored that Egyptian companies were ready to operate in the Angolan market and share their extensive experience in infrastructure projects in Egypt and across Africa. He also noted Egyptian companies' competitive capabilities in construction, engineering, and infrastructure development.

Furthermore, Abdelatty emphasized the importance of expanding cooperation within the Lobito Corridor and developing the logistical infrastructure associated with it.

He pointed to opportunities for deepening collaboration in the energy sector, given Egypt’s expertise in petrochemicals and manufacturing industries and in renewable energy and green hydrogen.

He added that Egypt and Angola will sign a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) in health that would allow high-quality Egyptian medicines to reach Angolan citizens and support the development of Angola’s healthcare system.

In conclusion, the Egyptian foreign minister emphasized strengthening banking links, facilitating financial transactions, avoiding double taxation, and expediting licensing procedures between the two countries.

He affirmed that Egypt’s General Authority for Investment is willing to work with its Angolan counterpart to improve the business environment. He also emphasized establishing the Egypt–Angola Business Council to strengthen institutional communication between the two business communities and enhance bilateral trade.
