During the meeting, both sides reviewed the latest developments in Sudan, with President El-Sisi stressing Egypt’s firm support for Sudan’s unity, sovereignty, security, and stability.
He also reaffirmed that Cairo is ready to make every effort to help achieve this goal.
According to the Egyptian presidency, they discussed regional and international efforts to restore peace and stability, stressing the need to stop crimes against the Sudanese people and hold those responsible accountable.
Both leaders emphasized the importance of stepping up support and assistance to Sudanese civilians amid the severe humanitarian conditions caused by the ongoing war.
For his part, Al-Burhan thanked Egypt for its continued support and efforts to help end the crisis, saying this reflects the strong fraternal ties between the two countries.
Water security
The presidency noted that the meeting also discussed regional developments in the Nile Basin and the Horn of Africa, where both leaders emphasized the convergence of their views regarding national security priorities.
Both sides underlined the importance of ongoing coordination and joint action to safeguard water security, rejecting unilateral measures in the Blue Nile Basin.
El-Sisi and Al-Burhan also stressed the importance of respecting international law in a way that serves the interests of all Nile Basin countries.
The meeting further discussed ways to strengthen Egyptian–Sudanese relations to meet the aspirations of both peoples for closer integration and shared development.
The Egyptian presidency added that a luncheon was held in honour of Al-Burhan.
