This came during a press conference held by the Egyptian foreign minister with his Russian counterpart, Sergey Lavrov, at the conclusion of the second ministerial conference of the Russia-Africa Partnership Forum, held in Cairo.

Abdelatty also affirmed that the Russia-Africa Partnership serves as a model of genuine cooperation across numerous sectors, benefiting the African region.
The Egyptian Foreign Minister noted that African foreign ministers exchanged views with Minister Lavrov, particularly regarding the need for a global system based on multilateralism, development, and stability.

Egypt also emphasized its rejection of any unilateral actions that could lead to tensions in the African continent, while stressing the need to maintain coordination and stability."
FM Abdelatty continued, saying, "We also discussed several issues and conflicts and affirmed that achieving a just and comprehensive peace requires a two-state solution based on the 1967 borders, the establishment of a Palestinian state with East Jerusalem as its capital, and the necessity of working towards peace based on international resolutions and international law."

From his side, Russian Foreign Minister Lavrov stated that Egyptian-African-Russian relations are long-standing and are reflected in the principle of non-interference in the internal affairs of states.
The Russian Foreign Minister added that Russia and Africa see no reason to complain about Western sanctions, but rather focus on mechanisms for cooperation.
He continued, saying, "Thanks to the efforts exerted, we agreed to implement fruitful projects in technology and investment, and we agreed to develop relations and cooperation in the cultural and humanitarian fields."
The Russian minister further stated, "We focused on rapid cooperation in trade, the economy, energy, and investment, and on accelerating development assistance. We also discussed in detail several African and global issues and strengthened the joint action plan."
He noted that the forum, in its current session, focused on cooperation in the logistical, trade, and defence sectors, in addition to discussing global and international issues of mutual interest. Furthermore, an agreement was reached on political coordination in international forums.
