Al-Azhar Grand Imam urges immediate solidarity with Gaza amid harsh winter conditions
Grand Imam of Al-Azhar, Dr Ahmed El-Tayeb, issued a global appeal in Arabic and English through his official social media accounts, calling for immediate solidarity with the innocent people of Gaza, who are enduring severe weather conditions alongside ongoing Israeli aggression and repeated violations.

“The harsh climatic conditions in Gaza are a true test of humanity’s conscience. Innocent people who have survived an aggression and extermination no human could bear are now facing heavy rains, storms, and severe cold, including children with nothing to shield them from the winter’s cruelty,” El-Tayeb said in a post on Al-Azhar’s official social media account.
“Either there is genuine solidarity to save them, or there is participation in deepening their pain and suffering.” The Grand Imam emphasized that this dire humanitarian situation places the entire world before an urgent moral and human responsibility.
