In the statement, Egypt said it is closely following the latest developments in the Yemeni arena, warning of the dangers of military escalation and its repercussions on Yemen’s security and stability, as well as the security of the region as a whole.
Egypt reaffirmed its firm position in support of Yemen’s unity, sovereignty and territorial integrity, stressing the importance of preserving the Yemeni state and its national institutions, and rejecting any actions that could undermine stability or worsen the humanitarian situation.
The statement underlined that addressing the root causes of the crisis through a comprehensive political settlement remains the only way to end the conflict and meet the aspirations of the Yemeni people for security, stability and development.
Egypt also stressed the importance of prioritizing dialogue and diplomacy, achieving de-escalation and exercising self-restraint, calling on all Yemeni parties to engage seriously in political efforts aimed at reaching a sustainable settlement.
Cairo reiterated its continued efforts to push towards a political solution to the Yemeni crisis through coordination with regional and international partners, and within the framework of supporting an inclusive Yemeni-Yemeni dialogue that respects national constants and preserves Yemen’s unity.
Egypt concluded that such efforts would contribute to strengthening national unity, protecting Arab national security, and promoting security and stability in the region.
