In separate calls with Kuwait’s Foreign Minister Abdullah Al-Yahya, Oman’s Foreign Minister Badr bin Hamad Al Busaidi, Pakistan’s Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Mohammad Ishaq Dar, and Turkey’s Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan, Abdelatty stressed the importance of achieving calm in Yemen, reducing military escalation, and prioritizing an inclusive Yemeni-Yemeni dialogue as the only viable path toward a comprehensive political settlement.

According to separate statements issued by the Foreign Ministry, Abdelatty underscored Egypt’s firm rejection of unilateral measures that risk deepening divisions or prolonging the conflict. He emphasized the importance of dialogue, consensus, and negotiated solutions as guarantees of stability, security, and unity to Yemen and lasting stability to its people.

The ministers agreed that stabilizing Yemen is critical not only for the country itself but also for broader regional security, including maritime safety and the stability of the Red Sea and Gulf regions.

They also agreed to continue consultations and coordination on Yemen as a central pillar of regional de-escalation efforts and a key test case for collective diplomatic action in addressing protracted regional crises.

On Saturday, Saudi Arabia called on Yemen’s southern factions to attend dialogue talks in Riyadh, following airstrikes and a renewed push by separatists to declare independence.

In a statement, the Saudi foreign ministry said the Yemeni government had invited all southern groups to a comprehensive conference aimed at addressing the “southern issue” through negotiated solutions.

The move comes as the Southern Transitional Council (STC) advances plans to establish a breakaway state in southern Yemen, announcing a two-year transitional process after seizing large areas in recent weeks.

According to the Foreign Ministry, the Egyptian FM also touched on other regional developments, particularly the situation in the Gaza Strip.

He reviewed Egypt’s efforts to consolidate ceasefire arrangements, ensure sustained and unhindered humanitarian access, advance early recovery and reconstruction, and support a serious political track toward a just and comprehensive settlement of the Palestinian cause.
