According to Al-Qahera News, the meeting with Rashad aimed to consolidate Egyptian peace efforts to achieve stability in the Palestinian territories and implement the relevant UN Security Council resolutions.
On the other hand, the Palestinian delegation held a separate meeting with Abdelatty to discuss the latest developments in the Gaza Strip and the West Bank, with the Egyptian FM reaffirming Cairo’s steadfast support for the legitimate rights of the Palestinian people.
According to the Egyptian Foreign Ministry, Abdelatty emphasized the importance of ensuring the flow of humanitarian and relief aid into Gaza as well as supporting early recovery and reconstruction efforts.
The Egyptian FM also stressed the urgent need to create suitable conditions for progress toward a fair political settlement of the Palestinian cause in accordance with international legitimacy resolutions.

The meetings come amidst Israel’s ongoing violations of its fragile ceasefire agreement with Hamas, brokered by Egypt, the US, Qatar, and Turkey in October.
On Friday, Egypt, along with seven Arab and Muslim nations, expressed its deepest concern regarding the deteriorating humanitarian situation in the Gaza Strip.
Since October 2023, Israel’s genocidal war has killed more than 70,000 people in Gaza, including over 18,500 children and around 12,400 women, and injured nearly 172,000 others.
