In a statement, the foreign ministry said the move comes as part of the Egyptian embassy’s continuous, daily follow-up on the conditions of the Egyptian community in Mali.
The ministry renewed its call on all citizens residing or present in Mali to strictly adhere to laws and instructions of local authorities, carry identification documents at all times.
It also urged the citizens to exercise the utmost caution, and avoid travelling or moving outside the capital or between cities and regions at the present time to ensure their safety.
In November, Egypt secured the release of three citizens who were kidnapped in Mali, following sustained diplomatic efforts and close coordination with Malian authorities.
