The two ministers discussed the growing escalation across the region and stressed the importance of stepping up efforts to contain crises through diplomacy and dialogue, while rejecting the use of force, Foreign Ministry Spokesperson Ambassador Tamim Khalaf said in a statement.

The call also covered developments related to the ceasefire in Gaza, with both sides highlighting the importance of implementing the commitments of the next phase of the plan put forward by US President Donald Trump.

The ministers also reviewed the situation in the West Bank amid repeated Israeli violations there and in the Gaza Strip.

Moreover, Abdelatty and bin Farhan discussed the worsening humanitarian and security situation in Sudan, stressing the urgency of reaching a humanitarian truce as a step towards a full ceasefire and the start of an inclusive political process led by Sudanese parties.

They emphasized the priority of establishing safe routes and areas for humanitarian aid and civilian protection, particularly in light of reports of serious violations in El-Fasher, highlighting the need to ensure their safety.

FM Abdelatty reaffirmed Egypt’s support for Sudan’s sovereignty, unity, and territorial integrity, the preservation of its state institutions, and its rejection of any attempts to equate state institutions with armed militias, the statement added.
