According to a joint statement issued following the talks on Friday, the ministers reviewed ways to enhance regional and international security and stability, with a focus on developments in the Gaza Strip.
They stressed the importance of adhering to the ceasefire agreement, fully implementing its provisions, and ensuring the delivery of sufficient and sustainable humanitarian aid to Gaza.
The ministers also highlighted ongoing efforts to support the peace plan launched by US President Donald Trump, stressing the need to move toward a clear political horizon that embodies the establishment of a sovereign Palestinian state along the 4 June 1967 lines, with East Jerusalem as its capital, in accordance with the two-state solution.
The talks also addressed developments in the occupied West Bank, with the ministers underscoring the need to halt Israel’s illegal unilateral measures and military operations in the occupied West Bank, as well as Israeli violations against Islamic and Christian holy sites in occupied Jerusalem. They warned that such actions risk further escalation and undermine all de-escalation efforts.
The Arab foreign ministers expressed appreciation for Slovenia’s positions in support of the legitimate rights of the Palestinian people, including its recognition of Palestine.
Discussions also covered broader regional developments and ways to reduce tensions through dialogue and negotiation, in addition to efforts aimed at resolving the Russian-Ukrainian crisis.
The discussions were held between Egyptian Foreign Minister Badr Abdelatty, Saudi Foreign Minister Prince Faisal bin Farhan, Jordanian Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ayman Safadi, Bahraini Foreign Minister Abdullatif bin Rashid Al-Zayani, Qatari Minister of State for Foreign Affairs Sultan bin Saad Al-Muraikhi, and Slovenia’s Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign and European Affairs Tanja Fajon.
