The convoy is part of Egypt’s ongoing relief effort for Gaza, aimed at supporting hospitals, displaced families, and essential services amid the strip’s worsening humanitarian crisis.
According to an ERC statement, the shipment included around 3,300 tons of food baskets and flour, more than 1,240 tons of medicines, relief supplies and personal care items, and over 1,465 tons of fuel to operate hospitals and other vital facilities inside the strip.
It also involved winter essentials, including more than 16,400 blankets, over 7,730 winter clothing items, 500 mattresses, and 10,990 tents to shelter affected families, the statement added.
At the Egyptian side of the Rafah crossing, ERC teams also facilitated the entry and departure procedures for the 13th group of wounded and ill Palestinians, assisting them with border formalities and coordinating medical transfers.
The organization said it is providing a wide range of services to Palestinians, including psychological support for children, family reunification services, distribution of hot meals, heavy clothing, and personal care kits, as well as a “return bag” for those returning to Gaza.
Since the outbreak of the war in October 2023, Egypt, working in coordination with the United Nations and international partners, has led extensive efforts to channel humanitarian aid to the besieged territory despite the ongoing Israeli blockade.
Egypt’s humanitarian response has become one of the largest and most sustained relief operations in modern history, extending for more than 760 consecutive days and delivering over 800,000 tons of aid through the Rafah and Karm Abu Salem crossings.
The operation has been coordinated by the ERC, which manages a nationwide logistics network supported by more than 65,000 volunteers.
As part of its expanded Ramadan relief operations, the ERC is set to prepare and distribute one million freshly cooked iftar meals inside the Gaza Strip through its Ramadan Humanitarian Kitchen in Sheikh Zuweid, North Sinai, under the “Hilal El-Kheir 2026” campaign.
The initiative, announced on Tuesday, reflects Egypt’s sustained humanitarian support for Palestinians amid the ongoing war in Gaza, with food assistance scaled up both in the strip and at key transit points along the North Sinai border during the holy month.
The ERC will also provide daily iftar meals in Rafah and Sheikh Zuweid to wounded and injured Palestinians receiving treatment in Egypt, as well as to those returning to Gaza after completing medical care via the Rafah crossing.
Ramadan feeding services will also extend to vulnerable residents in North Sinai.
