Madbouly, accompanied by Minister of Foreign Affairs, International Cooperation, and Egyptian Expatriates Badr Abdelatty, is set to deliver Egypt’s address at the meeting, outlining the country’s position on the issues under discussion.
Chaired by US President Donald Trump, the Board of Peace includes 27 members, among them eight Arab and Islamic countries: Egypt, Jordan, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, the UAE, Turkey, Pakistan, and Indonesia.
First proposed in September 2025 and formally established in January, the board serves as an international platform to develop sustainable solutions to regional and global conflicts, particularly the Palestinian issue.
Mandated by the United Nations through the end of 2027, the board is tasked with overseeing the implementation of the Gaza ceasefire agreement and working on governance and reconstruction efforts in the territory.
Egypt’s participation, at the invitation of the US administration, is expected to support the implementation of the second phase of the Gaza ceasefire deal and help mobilize funding for reconstruction in the strip.
According to the Egyptian cabinet, Madbouly’s participation reflects Egypt’s long-standing role in supporting regional stability and promoting comprehensive and lasting peace.
It also underscores Egypt’s support for President Trump’s position opposing the displacement of Palestinians from Gaza, as outlined in the proposed 20-point plan to end the conflict, in line with Cairo’s longstanding stance.
Madbouly’s participation further reaffirms Egypt’s backing of Trump’s rejection of the annexation of the occupied West Bank and the US administration’s stated commitment to regional peace and conflict resolution.
On Sunday, Trump announced that board members had pledged $5 billion for Gaza’s reconstruction and committed thousands of personnel to the International Stabilisation Force to help maintain security and stability in the strip.
Egypt has continued to support the Palestinian people amid the ongoing Israeli war, calling for a permanent ceasefire, full implementation of the Gaza agreement, guaranteed humanitarian access, and the launch of early recovery and reconstruction efforts.
