The calls included Saudi Foreign Minister Prince Faisal bin Farhan, Omani Foreign Minister Badr Albusaidi, Kuwaiti Foreign Minister Sheikh Jarrah Jaber Al-Ahmad Al-Sabah, and Bahraini Foreign Minister Abdullatif bin Rashid Al Zayani, alongside Witkoff.

The discussions come amid rapidly evolving regional developments and aimed to coordinate regional and international efforts to contain tensions and prevent further escalation, according to a foreign ministry statement.

During the calls, Abdelatty stressed the importance of continuing the US-Iran negotiation track, underlining that dialogue and diplomatic solutions remain the only viable path to resolving crises.

He warned that continued escalation could destabilise the wider Middle East, with implications for international peace and security, the statement added.

He also highlighted the economic risks of prolonged tensions, stressing the need to safeguard freedom of navigation in international waterways as a cornerstone of global trade and stability.

Abdelatty reaffirmed Egypt’s full solidarity with Gulf countries in the face of any actions that threaten their security and stability, the statement added.
