The Egyptian president also called for stronger bilateral cooperation in agriculture, irrigation and healthcare, according to a statement from the Egyptian presidency. He also urged deeper trade ties and sustainable investment partnerships between the two countries.
Egypt is currently carrying out the sixth phase of an aquatic weed control project in Uganda, launched in 2023.
Cairo and Kampala also signed a memorandum of understanding during Museveni's visit to Egypt in August 2025, covering integrated water resources management projects worth $6 million.

The agreement includes drilling and rehabilitating groundwater wells, constructing underground reservoirs and training staff at Uganda's Ministry of Water and Environment.
The cooperation forms part of Egypt's broader push to support development and water management projects across the Nile Basin.
The meeting also touched on conflicts in Sudan, Libya and the Palestinian territories, with El-Sisi stressing the need for neighbouring countries to play a constructive role in restoring stability and achieving lasting peace, the statement added.
Museveni presented Uganda's vision for ending conflicts on the continent, emphasizing the importance of national and African-led solutions that account for the continent's specific characteristics and delicate balances.
El-Sisi invited Museveni to attend an African Union coordination summit Egypt will host in June 2026, as well as an African business forum on its sidelines, citing Uganda's current chairmanship of the East African Community.
Museveni, who was recently re-elected, outlined Uganda's development ambitions under its National Development Plan 2040 and identified areas where Kampala seeks greater cooperation with Cairo.
He described existing bilateral ties as a model for African integration and praised Egypt's role on the continental and international stages.
The talks at the Presidential Palace included an expanded session with both delegations as well as a closed bilateral meeting between the two presidents.
El-Sisi arrived in Uganda earlier today from Kenya, where he participated in the Africa–France Summit on innovation and growth, held on 11–12 May.
