During his call with the UAE foreign minister, Abdelatty reviewed the latest regional developments and exchanged views on the ongoing US–Iran negotiations.
He stressed the importance of prioritizing diplomatic channels as the only viable path to resolving outstanding disputes and preventing further escalation in the region.
He also expressed Egypt’s expectation that any future agreement should take into account the security concerns of Gulf states, in order to safeguard Arab national security and regional stability.
Both ministers highlighted the depth of bilateral relations between Egypt and the UAE and underlined continued coordination on regional issues of mutual concern.
In a separate call with Cyprus’s foreign minister, Abdelatty discussed strengthening bilateral relations following the upgrade of ties to a strategic partnership during the Egyptian president’s visit to Nicosia in April.
The two ministers reaffirmed their commitment to expanding cooperation, particularly in economic and trade fields, and discussed accelerating the implementation of a memorandum of understanding on the employment of Egyptian workers in Cyprus.
They also addressed energy cooperation, including the potential for transporting natural gas from Cypriot fields through Egypt’s infrastructure to European markets.
On regional developments, both sides exchanged views on efforts to reduce tensions and the latest US–Iran negotiations.
Abdelatty briefed his Cypriot counterpart on Egypt’s ongoing diplomatic efforts with regional partners to de-escalate conflicts, stressing the importance of intensified international coordination to prevent further instability.
The Cypriot foreign minister, in turn, expressed appreciation for Egypt’s role in promoting calm and reducing tensions across the region. Both sides agreed to maintain close coordination and consultation in light of their strategic relationship.
