According to Foreign Ministry Spokesman Tamim Khallaf, Abdelatty spoke with AU Commission Chairperson Mahmoud Ali Youssouf; Burundi's Foreign Minister Édouard Bizimana, whose country currently holds the AU chairmanship; Angola's Foreign Minister Téte António; Tanzania's Foreign Minister Mahmoud Thabit Kombo; and the Democratic Republic of the Congo's (DRC) Foreign Minister Thérèse Wagner.

The consultations focused on enhancing African coordination to promote peace, security, and stability across the continent, while advancing sustainable development efforts, Khallaf said.

The discussions also included exchanges of views on a range of regional and continental issues of mutual concern, as well as recent health developments in Africa and ways to strengthen the continent's collective response to health challenges.

Abdelatty reaffirmed Egypt's readiness to share its expertise, technical support, and capabilities with African partners, underscoring Cairo's commitment to strengthening health security across the continent.

The talks further addressed proposed new dates and preparations for the eighth Mid-Year Coordination Summit of the African Union, the 49th Ordinary Session of the AU Executive Council, and related AU events scheduled to be hosted by Egypt later this year.
