The project is intended to enhance the ERC's logistical capabilities and support humanitarian assistance for Palestinians affected by the war in Gaza.
The agreement was signed by ERC Executive Director Amal Imam and the Korean Red Cross' Deputy Secretary-General.
The event was also attended by Social Solidarity Minister and ERC Vice President Maya Morsy and South Korean Ambassador to Egypt Kim Wan-joong.
Egypt has played a central role in humanitarian relief efforts and mediation since the Gaza war began in October 2023, seeking to facilitate aid deliveries and broker an agreement ending the Israeli aggression on the Palestinians.
Israel has since killed more than 73,000 Palestinians and wounded over 173,000, most of them women and children. It has also destroyed tens of hospitals and health facilities in Gaza, killing hundreds of doctors and healthcare workers, and leaving thousands without medical services.
Aid agencies have repeatedly warned of worsening humanitarian conditions, particularly for children, citing widespread displacement, malnutrition and disruptions to healthcare and education.
Speaking at the signing ceremony, Minister Morsy said the ERC, backed by President Abdel-Fattah El-Sisi and First Lady Entissar El-Sisi, serves as Egypt's national mechanism for delivering humanitarian assistance to Gaza in line with international humanitarian law.
She said Egypt had made the humanitarian crisis in Gaza a top political and diplomatic priority and remained the main entry point for most aid reaching the enclave since the conflict began.
Morsy added that the ERC has coordinated one of the largest humanitarian supply operations to Gaza, facilitating the delivery of thousands of trucks carrying food and other relief supplies.
For her part, Imam said the humanitarian response to the Gaza crisis has continued for more than 900 days since October 2023, with nearly 75,000 Egyptian Red Crescent volunteers taking part in the relief effort and helping deliver more than 1 million tons of humanitarian aid.
The humanitarian assistance included food, medicines, medical supplies, relief materials, and fuel trucks, delivered through both the Rafah and Karm Abu Salem border crossings into Gaza.
Imam said the ERC coordinates aid shipments arriving from around the world by air, sea and land, beginning with an operations room in Arish linked to its central command centre in Cairo.
The ERC, Imam added, also inspects and codes the aid at logistics centres in Arish to ensure it meets the established international standards before being transported to Gaza via a land bridge connecting the logistics hubs with the Strip.
She stressed that the Rafah crossing has never been closed from the Egyptian side since the start of the crisis.
On his part, the Korean ambassador expressed appreciation for the efforts of the Egyptian government and the ERC in responding to the humanitarian crisis in Gaza, praising the organisation's strong operational capabilities and the dedication of its staff and volunteers.
