During his meeting with Lavrov, Abdelatty outlined Egypt's efforts to reduce tensions across the Middle East, stressing the need to prioritise diplomacy and negotiations to resolve regional crises.
He also called for protecting freedom of navigation in international waterways in accordance with international law, warning that disruptions to global shipping routes would have consequences for international trade and energy security.
The two ministers also discussed the war in Sudan. Abdelatty reaffirmed Egypt's support for Sudan's unity, sovereignty and territorial integrity, calling for an immediate ceasefire, sustained humanitarian access and an inclusive Sudanese-led political process.
According to Egypt's foreign ministry, Lavrov reaffirmed Russia's commitment to continued coordination with Egypt on regional and international issues.
The talks also covered bilateral projects, including the El-Dabaa nuclear power plant, the Russian Industrial Zone (RIZ) in the Suez Canal Economic Zone (SCZone) and plans to establish a logistics hub for grain and petroleum products in Egypt.
The Russian side also announced preliminary approval for El Alamein and Alexandria international airports to receive seasonal Russian flights, a move expected to boost tourism.
In a separate meeting with Pakistani Foreign Minister Mohammad Ishaq Dar, Abdelatty discussed efforts to preserve momentum following the recent US-Iran memorandum of understanding.
According to the foreign ministry, Abdelatty praised Pakistan's diplomatic efforts, alongside regional partners, and called for continued negotiations aimed at reaching a comprehensive and lasting settlement.
He also highlighted the outcomes of a four-party regional meeting hosted by Cairo last June as a basis for advancing dialogue between the parties.
The meeting with Dar also addressed expanding trade and investment, preparations for the next session of the Egyptian-Pakistani joint ministerial committee, the establishment of an Egyptian-Pakistani Business Council, and cooperation through the SCZone.
