The two ministers also discussed strengthening economic ties between Egypt and Qatar, including trade and investment, following their participation in the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) Foreign Ministers' Meeting in Manila.
Abdelatty and Al Thani stressed the need to sustain regional efforts to contain tensions and expressed hope they would lead to a ceasefire, a return to negotiations, and implementation of commitments under the memorandum of understanding between the United States and Iran.
They said the steps could pave the way for the resumption of US-Iran negotiations and agreed to maintain close coordination until de-escalation efforts achieve their objectives.
The ministers also reviewed developments in the Gaza Strip, the occupied West Bank, and East Jerusalem, stressing the need to implement all commitments under the first phase of US President Donald Trump's plan and move towards its second phase.
On bilateral relations, Abdelatty and Al Thani reaffirmed their commitment to expanding cooperation, particularly in trade, investment and other economic sectors, while exploring new investment partnerships.
The talks came amid intensified Egyptian diplomatic efforts to contain the regional escalation. Earlier on Saturday, Abdelatty held separate phone calls with Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi and Omani Foreign Minister Badr Al Busaidi to discuss de-escalation and the protection of maritime navigation, according to the Egyptian foreign ministry.
