Abdelatty said humanitarian aid sent by Egypt arrived in Venezuela on Monday under directives from President Abdel-Fattah El-Sisi, describing the shipment as a sign of solidarity following the loss of life and widespread destruction caused by the earthquakes.
He said Egypt would coordinate with the Venezuelan government to assess further humanitarian requirements and explore additional assistance to support recovery efforts.
Abdelatty also expressed Egypt's readiness to contribute to reconstruction by drawing on the expertise of Egyptian companies in infrastructure and construction projects.
The Egyptian foreign minister conveyed President El-Sisi's greetings to Venezuelan President Delcy Rodríguez and congratulated Plasencia on taking office. He said the humanitarian assistance reflects the longstanding ties between the two countries, which established diplomatic relations more than 75 years ago.
The two ministers also agreed to expand bilateral cooperation, particularly in the economic and investment fields.
During the call, Abdelatty briefed Plasencia on Egypt's diplomatic efforts to reduce tensions in the Middle East and promote political solutions to regional conflicts, while the Venezuelan minister reviewed developments in Latin America.
According to the Egyptian Foreign Ministry, the two ministers agreed that "there are no military solutions to conflicts and crises" and stressed that dialogue and diplomacy remain the only path to security and stability.
Plasencia thanked Egypt for its humanitarian assistance and praised Cairo's support for the Venezuelan people following the disaster.
The call came as Venezuela continues to recover from twin earthquakes measuring 7.2 and 7.5 that struck on 24 June. The quakes, centred west of Caracas, caused widespread destruction in northern coastal areas, particularly La Guaira.
According to the latest official figures cited by the Egyptian Foreign Ministry, at least 5,500 people were killed and nearly 17,000 injured.
Earlier on Monday, Egypt dispatched five tonnes of Egyptian-made medicines and medical supplies to Venezuela to support the country's healthcare system and humanitarian response.
