The first lady also visited the Decent Life initiative's healthcare convoy that provides health services to the villagers.
She also visited a number of projects organised by Decent Life including a school and a healthcare services complex.
Decent Life was first initiated in 2019 when the president charged the Ministry of Social Solidarity with developing Egypt’s poorest 1,000 villages.
In December 2020, President Abdel-Fattah El-Sisi expanded the initiative to include 4,500 villages within the framework of the Sustainable Development Strategy: Egypt's Vision 2030.
The initiative aims to improve the standards of living, infrastructure, and basic services in 4,500 villages, which are home to 58 percent of Egypt’s 102-million population.
