During the holy month of Ramadan and Eid Al-Fitr earlier this year, Cairo Metro extended its working hours to accommodate the high traffic.
However, for the four-day Eid Al-Adha starting on Wednesday, Cairo Metro has decided to maintain its regular timetable, with operations beginning at 5:15 AM and ending around 12:30 AM.
In preparation for the Eid Al-Adha holiday, Cairo Metro has made arrangements to ensure safe and efficient transportation for passengers.
The company's spokesperson, Ahmed Abdel-Hady, highlighted that Cairo Metro would fully operate air-conditioned trains to relieve passengers from the expected hot weather in various parts of the country, including Cairo.
In addition, he stressed that the Ministry of Interior would deploy female officers in different Cairo Metro stations to address any instances or attempts of sexual harassment during the Eid period.
Here is the timetable for Cairo Metro during Eid Al-Adha:
- The first train will start operating at 5:15 AM, and the last trains on the first line will depart from Helwan and New Marg stations at 12:15 AM.
- The last train on the second line from Shubra El-Kheima and El-Mounib stations will depart at 11:55 PM, reaching Anwar El-Sadat transition station at 12:30 AM.
- The last trains on the third line from Adly Mansour and Kit Kat stations will depart at 12:07 AM and 12:38 AM, respectively.
- The last trains on the second and third lines will arrive at Gamal Abdel-Nasser's transition station at 12:30 AM.
- The last train will also arrive at Ataba station, the interchange station between the second and third lines, at 12:30 AM.
