The SCZONE supplied 100 tons of diesel to the container ship CMA CGM MEKONG within one hour, the Chairman of the Suez Canal Economic Zone (SCZone), Walid Gamal El-Din, announced.
Gamal El-Din added that providing such a service raises the port's global classification and contributes to attracting many shipping lines. Furthermore, it reflects the zone's success in improving the operational efficiency of services for ships, he noted.
Sunday’s fueling operation represents the second of its kind in Egypt’s SCZONE ports. The first fueling operation, which provided fuel to the Valencia Eagle general cargo ship, occurred in the East Port Said port, the statement affirmed.
The fueling operations were made possible after relevant authorities issued licences for ship fueling to international marine fuel supply companies Minerva Bunkering and Peninsula Petroleum Limited.
