Ambulances rushed to the scene and transported the injured to hospitals, according to a security statement.

The Public Prosecution has been notified to launch an investigation into the cause of the crash, the statement added.

Egypt, which hosts four million Sudanese, has recently received over 250,000 Sudanese who fled Sudan since the outbreak of the armed conflict in mid-April.

Those fleeing the violence cross from the border into Egypt through two border crossings at Arqin and Qustul in southern Aswan governorate.

In May, 36 Sudanese, including children, and two Egyptians were injured after their bus overturned in Upper Egypt’s Beni Suef governorate while on route to Cairo.
