Egypt railways to resume Cairo/Qalioub route, suspend Cairo/Matrouh service

Egyptian National Railways (ENR) will resume the Cairo/Qalioub passenger route in mid-October and suspend the Cairo/Marsa Matrouh route later this week

On 15 October, passenger service for train 523/524 will resume between Cairo and Qalioub city, north of Cairo.

Starting 19 September, passenger service between Cairo and Marsa Matrouh, on the Mediterranean coast, will be temporarily suspended as the summer season comes to a close.

Train 775/774 will depart Cairo for the last time on 18 September and return from Marsa Matrouh the day after.

Sleeper train 772/773 will depart Cairo for the last time on 28 September and return from Marsa Matrouh the day after. 

Customers can book tickets on the ENR website via this link or use the authority’s Android and iOS apps. They can also book train tickets via nationwide 320,000 Fawry e-payment system outlets.
