According to EgyptAir’s statement, flight number MS985, operated by a B777/300 aircraft and carrying 309 passengers, on the route from Cairo International Airport to JFK in New York, was re-routed to Geneve to assist a passenger who experienced a sudden health crisis onboard.
The company stated in a press release that the flight captain promptly altered the flight path and made an emergency landing at Geneva Airport to save the passenger's life.
The aircraft's crew provided initial medical assistance onboard.
Upon arrival at Geneva Airport, an ambulance transported the passenger for medical treatment.
The aircraft resumed its journey to JFK.
