
A five-story building collapsed on Tuesday, 4 June 2024 in Mit Ghamr district in the Nile Delta governorate of Daqahliya
The bodies of the victims were recovered from the rubble, and the injured were transported to hospitals for treatment.
No updates were provided on the health status of those injured.
Daqahliya Governor Ayman Mokhtar said in a statement that the old building collapsed after one of the residents set up furniture-lifting crane at the base of the structure.
The prosecution is investigating the incident.
The accident is the latest in a series of building disasters in Egypt over recent years that have injured and killed residents.
These accidents are often due to old or compromised structures.
