In a statement published Friday afternoon, the civil aviation ministry said the GoNow system, which manages all airport-related check-in and boarding functions, was affected by the global cyber outage.
However, the ministry clarified it activated alternative systems, which reduced delays to no more than two hours, adding that all Egyptian airline flights are now operating as scheduled.
The minister of civil aviation was closely monitoring the situation from the main operations room of the civil aviation ministry to assess the repercussions of this global crisis and address any emerging issues, according to the statement.

Earlier on Friday, the cabinet announced the formation of a crisis task to monitor any impacts and repercussions of the current global cyber outage on the country
In a statement, the cabinet said Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouly has been monitoring the global cyber outage that caused problems affecting several countries, including airports, airlines, media, and banks.
The prime minister has directed the formation of a crisis task force from the relevant ministries and agencies to assess and address the impacts and repercussions of this crisis on the country, added the statement.
In parallel, the Ministry of Civil Aviation announced the formation of a monitoring room to follow up on the developments and their impact on air traffic.
Earlier on Friday, the ministry confirmed that all Egyptian airports are operating normally on schedule so far and no departing flights from Egyptian airports were affected.
Meanwhile, the Ministry of Telecommunications and Information Technology confirmed that vital sectors in Egypt were not affected by the global outage caused by a technical malfunction in a cybersecurity system (CrowdStrike), which operates on a cloud computing system.
In a statement, the ministry said all Egyptian airports, ports, banking services across all government banks, mobile banking services, government services platforms, and communication systems and networks were operating normally.
"The ministry has been monitoring the crisis since its inception and is following up through the National Telecommunications Regulatory Authority and the National Computer and Network Emergency Response Team until the global issue is resolved," added the statement.
Moreover, the Ministry of Petroleum and Mineral Resources announced that all operations and management systems of the petroleum and gas sector companies and facilities are operating efficiently and stably.
The ministry confirmed that a state of readiness has been elevated and security measures were put in place in all companies and petroleum facilities as a precautionary measure to deal with any repercussions.
