Madbouly made his remarks during a meeting on Sunday evening with Minister of Civil Aviation Sameh El-Hefny, where he followed up on the project.
Terminal 4, Madbouly added, is a strategic project that will bring about a qualitative shift in the level of services and infrastructure at the airport, according to a cabinet statement.
Minister El-Hefny noted that the project is being implemented in accordance with the latest international standards, representing “a qualitative addition” to the airport's infrastructure.
The project, El-Hefny explained, aims to construct a passenger terminal with a capacity of no less than 30 million passengers annually, increasing the airport's capacity to 60 million passengers annually.
He added that the project includes the construction of a new runway equipped with the latest navigation and ground lighting systems, keeping pace with developments in this field.
It also includes spacious parking spaces fully covered with solar panels, integrated connectivity to a modern road network with smooth and fast entrances, and support and operational buildings designed in accordance with international standards.
The new terminal will utilize the latest smart technologies, placing it among the most advanced passenger terminals in the world.

Cairo International Airport is the largest among 23 airports in the country.
In 2024, it served over 27.7 million passengers and handled 211,600 flights, compared with 26.4 million passengers and 198,900 flights in 2023.
