The ministry has completed preparations for a comprehensive operational plan at both Sphinx and Cairo international airports, in coordination with various ministries and government agencies.
Field teams from the ministry and its affiliated companies have been deployed to supervise the execution of the plan, ensuring precision and full coordination among all parties to present the event in a manner befitting Egypt's global stature.
In celebration of the occasion, the ministry will broadcast the opening ceremony live across display screens at all Egyptian airports, allowing travellers to share in the national festivities taking place near the Giza Pyramids Plateau.
Sphinx International Airport, located closest to the museum, has undergone significant upgrades, including enhanced passenger facilities, modernised security and technological systems, and interior designs inspired by ancient Egyptian heritage.
For the first time in Egyptian airports, large display screens have been installed inside Sphinx's departure terminal to make it easier for passengers to check flight information within and outside the terminal. The airport's VIP lounge has also undergone an upgrade.
At the same time, Cairo International Airport has increased its state of readiness across all passenger terminals to accommodate high-level guests, official delegations, and international visitors.
A comprehensive development plan has been implemented, including the preparation of dedicated counters for arriving delegations and the installation of multilingual banners introducing the GEM.
Additional task forces have also been formed in all specialities to facilitate the arrival and departure procedures of participants, with an increased number of terminal coordinators and public relations staff throughout the terminals to ensure smooth operations and provide immediate support when needed.
Moreover, a documentary film about the GEM will be screened on monitors at Cairo International Airport. On the other hand, the giant 5D screen in front of Terminal 2 will broadcast the opening ceremony live.
This integrated plan reflects the readiness and efficiency of Egypt's civil aviation sector in managing major international events and delivering the highest levels of service to visitors from around the world.
Civil Aviation Minister Sameh El-Hefny stated that the ministry's participation in this event is part of its national role in offering an exceptional travel experience for the coming guests.
He noted that the Sphinx International Airport has become a model for modern airports near major tourist destinations, designed to serve as a cultural gateway worthy of the museum's grandeur.
El-Hefny also pointed out that EgyptAir is the official carrier of the celebration, underscoring its pivotal role in significant occasions and its support for the event's organisational and logistical efforts.
The airline is responsible for transporting and receiving several official delegations on its flights, providing all means of comfort to Egypt's guests, in addition to launching a promotional campaign highlighting the museum and its cultural value across its fleet and through its domestic and international offices.
El-Hefny affirmed that the ministry operates according to a comprehensive vision that prioritises traveller comfort and ensures that Egyptian airports serve as gateways reflecting the state's progress in air transport, navigation, logistics, and tourism.
On Wednesday, Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouly instructed governors across Egypt to install large display screens for citizens nationwide to watch the GEM's opening ceremony.
