According to local authorities, the crash occurred at the Al-Safa checkpoint. Eleven ambulances were dispatched to the scene.
The injured were transferred to Minya Chest Hospital for treatment. Eight bodies were taken to the hospital’s morgue, while three others were moved to Minya Fever Hospital.
Deputy Governor Mohamed Abu Zeid visited the crash site and later inspected Minya Chest Hospital to follow up on the condition of the injured.
He directed medical teams to provide necessary treatment and instructed ambulance services and traffic authorities to coordinate efforts to clear the site and restore traffic flow.
The ministers of social solidarity and labour, Maya Morsy and Mohamed Gobran, ordered procedures to disburse compensation to the families of the victims and to those injured, based on medical assessments.
Morsy also directed the provision of emergency relief assistance in coordination with the Egyptian Red Crescent (ERC).
