Captain Ahmed Adel, Chairman and CEO of EgyptAir Holding Company, welcomed Theo Panagiotoulias, Chief Executive Officer of Star Alliance, and his delegation during an official visit to the airline’s headquarters in Cairo.
The meeting focused on strengthening cooperation between both sides and enhancing services provided to alliance members and passengers.
The discussions were attended by Captain Sherif Khalil, Assistant Chairman and CEO of EgyptAir Holding Company; Captain Mohamed Alyan, Chairman and CEO of EgyptAir Airlines; and Rabab Hamdy, Head of the Alliances Sector at EgyptAir Holding Company.

Ahmed Adel said the visit reflects international confidence in EgyptAir’s operational capabilities and underscores the airline’s growing role within the Star Alliance network.
He added that EgyptAir is pressing ahead with a fleet modernization programme aimed at supporting the carrier’s network expansion plans, improving operational efficiency, and enhancing service standards in line with global aviation developments.
The visit coincided with the arrival of EgyptAir’s third Boeing 737 MAX aircraft, part of a larger order of 18 planes of the same model.
Adel and Panagiotoulias witnessed the aircraft’s arrival at Cairo International Airport as part of the airline’s broader fleet renewal strategy.
For his part, Panagiotoulias said EgyptAir’s ongoing expansion and modernization plans would strengthen both the airline’s competitiveness and the wider Star Alliance network.

He also praised the carrier’s efforts to improve passenger experience and service quality while maintaining the alliance’s standards for safety, quality, and sustainability.
